One third of Beats of No Nation and one fully sick nature freak / wonky techno owl, our next One Night Stand is one of Sydney’s favorite nocturnal animals. Please welcome your captain for the evening....
Luen
Luen gives everything she’s got to dance music. She’s spent over a decade as a DJ, playing everywhere from Splendour in the Grass and Strawberry Fields to her own national headlining tour. She’s also a radio presenter who you may have heard on the airwaves for triple j, FBi Radio and Skylab. More recently she has become a producer, with her first self-titled, self-released debut back in 2019, now making her first appearance on Motorik with her Strange Purpose EP on April 1. Her hardware-based production draws inspiration from nature by mixing samples, her own affected vocals and machine music to create blissful, low-slung late-night melodies. She’s also known for sharing her love of dance music as an educator, teaching over 1000 female-identifying, non-binary and trans women how to DJ, connect with audiences and develop their sets. She’s a good samaritan, a great DJ, and boy, oh boy…. we can’t wait to have her make her One Night Stand debut!
