Our next One Night Stand guest brings a whole new meaning to marching to the beat of your own drum; with her percussive, global and bass-heavy sounds paving a completely unique path for this emerging Naarm deejay who’s quickly establishing herself as one of the best DJs in the world.
C.FRIM
As a DJ she draws from her own singular blueprint with taste shaped by her perspective as a member of the Ghanaian-Filipina diaspora, growing up on a healthy diet of hybridized musical styles, ripping tracks off Youtube as a teenager, and watching Jerk and Dougie videos.
C.FRIM blends global club sounds that are urgent and forward-thinking, while evoking deep feelings of nostalgia. Her eclecticism reflects an artist and DJ with confidence in the vision and a desire to keep pushing boundaries, collapsing walls between cultural silos and championing her own refreshingly distinct style.
Her recent Sugar Mountain Boiler Room was one of the most brilliant sets we’ve heard and after working on this one for close to two years and we’re over the moon to finally have the dream come to light! We've asked Xander Silky to lead the dance and we hope you can join us. We have a feeling it's not going to take much convincing.
