Time to march again! Following the first incredibly successful KSO rally back in February, it’s time to hit the streets again for round two. If you care about Sydney’s nightlife like we do, it’s extremely important to head down to Belmore Park at midday this Sunday, October 9th, and join in the protests against our state government’s backwards, anti-nightlife legislation.
Tell your friends. Tell your enemies. Tell family young and old, acquaintances and definitely strangers. Send the message to as many people as you physically can! Also, if you’re in a real protesty mood, make up some (family friendly) signs to bring along on the day.
Head over to the Facebook event page for more information on the day and the cause. Help us to Keep Sydney Open!!
We’ve got tonnes of stuff coming up in Picnicland! Let’s take a look in chronological order…
First up, we’re relaunching Picnic Social! PS 3.0 will be kicking off at Tatler on Sunday October 2nd (long weekend ooh yeah) with return guest Jan Schulte headlining, plus Jamie Blanco playing his first live set in Aus! That’ll be an extra special one.
Then we’re doubling up with Jam Gallery shows on the 22nd and 29th. The first is part of V MoVement Sydney and features Melbourne heat beat magicians NO ZU plus hardware whizzes Sleep D. Yumbo! The second gig is with the one and only Dream 2 Science, performing live for the second time anywhere in the world! Holy moly.
Fast forward to November and it’s the long-awaited return of our beloved Simon Caldwell to One Night Stand. Sydney’s best DJ is gonna be treating us to another all-night set on Nov 19th at Jam Gallery.
Oh, and definitely don’t forget to come along to the Keep Sydney Open rally on October 9th. Let’s make our voices heard!
We’ve got a couple of Jam Gallery gigs on the way that have us in big hype mode. Next Saturday we’ll have NYC techno talent Gunnar Haslam taking us to a dark and fantastic place! We adore the music he’s released on L.I.E.S. and Mister Saturday night, and it’s a huge treat to have him dropping in for a proper winter clubbing session. Support on the night comes from phile, Jon Watts and Kali.
Then we’ve got the return of Young Marco!! The Dutch chiller himself is back in the Picnic saddle for a groove sesh down at the Civic Underground. Fresh from a Dekmantel set sandwiched between DJ Harvey and Theo Parrish v Marcellus Pittman (woah!), he’s touching down on September 9th to spin after Rimbombo on the beloved Civic system.
THEN, on October 22nd, MoVement Sydney is back and thankfully so are we! Our second party with V will be with a MASSIVE SPECIAL GUEST (to be announced soon) plus two of our favourite Melbourne bros, Sleep D, who will be performing live. Throw in Sydney Pony Club and Kali and we’ve got a ripper of a night on our hands!
Go grab yourself some tickets to all three parties and let’s have a nice dance 🙂
A little public service announcement to let you all know that Picnic Social will be rugging up and hibernating for the rest of winter.
It’s been a wonderfully fun few months at Tatler – humongous thanks to everyone who played, danced, drank and chatted at our lovely Sunday hang. We got to hear sets from magnificent selectors like Magic Touch and Lovefingers, we had ripper takeovers from talented people like Pelvis and Sydney Pony Club, and the vibes ranged from amazing to ridiculous: Hubert Clarke Jr’s live set at our Vivid night was BONKERS! A night to remember forever.
Fear not: we’ll be returning in full force on the OCTOBER LONG WEEKEND, once again delivering the very best Sunday party times down at Tatler with tonnes of great live acts and local DJs plus regular interstate and international guests taking us through the summer!! For now, stay warm and get some rest 🙂
What a night it was! The fierce battle between Ben and Andy raged on for six electric hours, and in the end love was victorious. Massive thanks to the hordes of dancers who came out and partied all night, it was such a fun evening. Go check out our awesome gallery from the night, delivered by the amazing Sam Whiteside from Voena.
Next up: a One Night Stand we’ve been wanting for years. Head back to Jam Gallery on July 16th to catch MAGDA BYTNEROWICZ spinning all night long. Head to RA now for tickets and info!
